The games that invite children to feed the kittens online, allowing them to paint pumpkins and witches, or "spot the differences" between two similar images, are laced with malware that could give fraudsters access to children parents financial data or recruit children computers in international networks, or botnets, to criminal activity.
"Some scams may arouse suspicion of adults - especially when they try to install software on the computer or to redirect computer users to suspicious Web sites," said Catalin Cosoi, head of the Laboratory of online threats to Bitdefender.
