Broadcom ships FCoE card, finally
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Broadcom Corp. has finally entered the market for 10-channel Gbit / s Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). Adapter card using its controller BCM57712 passed the certification tests, Broadcom announced at Cisco Live event.
The card passed the qualification tests with the EMC E-Lab, Cisco, Dell and Demartek, a specialist in network testing and storage. A document Demartek White said that the rate of data cards deliver up to 1.7 million input / output operations per second (IOPS), over 80 percent faster than the closest competitor of tests that included products Emulex, Intel and QLogic.
